Designed to be attached to any vertical surface, like the outside of an existing lighthouse or on the interior wall of a lighthouse lovers home.
This design is based on the Hat Badge worn by Lighthouse Service Depot watchmen. That badge had an eagle with outstretched wings on the top of the shield. There was a similar badge for the breast of the uniform. Lighthouse Keepers did not wear this or any other badge. The Keepers Log of Fall, 2001, a publication of the US Lighthouse Society, details the history of USLHS uniforms. For further information about lighthouse history, go to www.uslhs.org
Made of heavy cast bronze and coated with a clear finish after burnishing. Flat back marker comes with two machine screws that screw in to the pre-drilled back.
