Comes complete with an 18″ brass rod and a 12″ by 18″ US flag attached to a sturdy 3/8″ dowel.
This design is based on the official Hat Badge worn by Lighthouse Service Depot watchmen. That badge had an eagle with outstretched wings on the top of the shield. There was a similar badge worn on the breast of the uniform. Lighthouse Keepers did not wear this or any other badge. The Keepers Log of Fall, 2001, a publication of the US Lighthouse Society, details the history of USLHS uniforms. For further information about lighthouse history, go to www.uslhs.org
Available exclusively from Lifesaving Service Markers! Designed to be inserted in the ground to honor a former member of the Lighthouse Service. Lighthouse Service Keepers would be appropriately remembered by ordering the separate Keeper insignia, M-58INKP, shown under Products.
Made of heavy cast bronze, powder coated, then coated with a clear finish after burnishing. The Lighthouse Service Grave Marker is shipped in a specially designed box complete with an 18″ brass rod and a 12 x 18″ US flag on a sturdy 3/8″ dowel.
